Her fourth book was published this year, and at the time of this bio being updated, the manuscript for her fifth is currently past due but almost done. Mary Lou delights in helping others reach their writing goals.

Teaches

Writing Basics

This course focuses on writing daily devotionals but is applicable to all genres. We will draft a meditation/devotional to be refined and submitted to a magazine. Each day’s class will be built around identifying and practicing the qualities of good devotional writing. Exercises will guide writers in developing skills essential not only to devotional writing but to all good writing. Participants will come away with concrete tools for self-editing and information about various devotional magazines.
